About

Cog and Key is a 2D Puzzle Platformer inspired by the Studio Ghibli art style.  Using a mix of 3D (casted to 2D with a shader) and stylized 2D assets, Cog and Key takes inspiration while also shaping it's own custom art style. (Work in progress, not implemented in current build)

Story

The story is set in a dystopian steampunk world where industrialization has taken over. Humanity created clockwork automatons to take care of menial tasks, but their AI evolved into a hive mind that sees humans as disposable. As such, humanity has been pushed into the wilderness. 

Judith Frachel

The protagonist, Judith Frachel, aims to eliminate the source of the hive mind, a clockwork spider using oil to control the entities inside the clocktower, and deactivate the automatons. They possess a key that can interact with the automatons and parts of the environment to wind them up, lock them in place, or wind them in reverse.
